Barbie Celebrates 60th Anniversary With ‘KITH’ Brand Collaboration

As seen on Instagram, as well as several other social media and online publications including Highsnobiety, WWD, and Essence, have featured Barbie’s latest brand partnership. From September 21st through the 29th, KITH x Barbie will be hosting a styling competition and exhibition in SoHo, New York.


With the usual pink frills, white chevron swimsuits (1959) and kitschy classics adorned by the Mattel icon, this collab is certainly unique. A mini collection, featuring over 100 different pieces (yes, of real KITH products) will be a part of what every appointed contestant may use in their favor to dress up their very own doll.


KITH Women has kept busy this Fall, with its Malin+Goetz skincare line partnership, including a launch. Around the corner from skincare, judges of the upcoming competition include KITH Women director Jackie Kim, Dianne Garcia, Maeve Reilly, Ade Samuel and KITH founder Ronnie Fieg. The lucky winner will have launched their styled doll as a limited edition product available for purchase.

Entrants of this competition will be able to submit a photo of their styled doll via KITH Women’s Instagram. Commenters and voters on Instagram will also be able to choose which of the 6 dolls they prefer.

KITH will also be designing and distributing limited edition KITH x Barbie 60th Anniversary T-shirts, available only to the first 200 attendees to Barbie’s 60th Anniversary Museum Exhibition--respectively running through October 2nd.
