The Return Of The 90's At Versace
We all know it, Versace really knows how get itself talked about through its marvelous designs or its casting choices, and since last Spring 2019 collection, Versace decided to bring back the supermodels era with one of the most well-known model from the late 90’s : Shalom Harlow.
These days, Donatella seems to pay tribute to what was already done in the past by her brother Gianni, by incorporating a mix of timeless pieces and modern ones…
For this collection, Shalom Harlow decided more than ever to be the center stage by opening the Fall Ready To Wear 2019 collection under the giant golden Medusa safety pin, dressed with a beige short sleeve trench-coat, black leather cowboy boots and golden accessories…
The colour palette was diversified and glimmering, offering us structured blazers, elegant evening dresses, coral coat, flashy bags, neon faux fur coats and colours considered as ugly — Nevertheless perfectly matched with the sweetness of silk tops, whimsical brooch and elegant tights lace — cocktail dresses covered with lace.
Donatella wanted with this collection to show “that side of a woman that isn’t afraid to step outside of her comfort zone because she knows that imperfection is the new perfection”. As Alexa Chung and Victoria Beckham, who wanted to celebrate the strength of women throughout London Fashion Week, what Donatella did is not an exception for this state of mind.
More than the collection itself — the casting was anything but boring, how could it be when the show had Imaan Hammam, Vittoria Ceretti, Rianne van Rompaey, Kaia Gerber, Candice Swanepoel, Irina Shayk and the “clou du spectacle” the ex supertop Stephanie Seymour whom closed the show with confidence and effortless chic walk.
