Alexa Chung "Off The Grid" Collection

Last year, Alexa Chung, announced the debut of her brand’s steps on the catwalk of London Fashion Week. Since her first spring summer collection, the setting and atmosphere have completely changed, the very Londoner chic decor was left behind for a new special apocalyptic decor, in where Californian women from the 80’s are trying so survive in their very own way…

The collection is all about a very rock approach mixed with “romantisme”, with the badass black leather jackets and the softness of satin.

The entire collection is a true time machine, who turns back the clock during the 80’s, the good old times…isn’t ? The 80’s trends are definitely back with Alexa’s collection, with the big structured shoulders, that Princess Diana was used to wear and the typical dresses with flowers on it, green velvet ensembles, satin pajama suits, huge structured collars and enormous black leather boots, and this, really made those fashionable and chic women, frightening. They are definitely ready to kill someone to stay alive…

Although the combinations of the looks were pretty interesting, it is like the girls from The Craft met with the girls from The Little House Of The Prairie, and it is in total harmony with the message that Alexa wants to spread.

Like Victoria Beckham did this month during London Fashion Week, Alexa  wants to support and defend women through this fictional story, in which women from all around the world own the power, and in where there's not such a thing as "masculine domination".

This season, more than ever, the ex model, brand editor and fashion icon — miss Chung is definitely on the way of success with her flourishing brand of the same name. And honestly, I don’t think she is ready to let go of her place at London Fashion Week…
