Yesterday, enthralled fans of the french-brand travelled to Valensole in light of Jacquemus' 10 Year Anniversary Show. Hosted in southern France, models walked a pink 500m runway in the midst of lavender fields showcasing a mighty 65-look collection, of both menswear and womenswear looks.
The 29-year-old designer brought a whole array of items to the runway; utility jackets paired with gradient pleated skirts, two-toned dresses, embroidered collared shirts, puffed mini skirts, as well as a whole new line of handbags which seem to be a hit for the brand.
Though many critiqued the designers collection, deeming it too “over-designed” and “over-styled” (quoting hautelemess) compared to his established work, the “LE COUP DE SOLEIL” show still flooded the home and explore page of everyone’s Instagram.
Jacquemus’ inspiration behind the collection includes painters such as Hockney, Paul Cézanne and Jean Lurçat. The invitation for the show was a sunscreen bottle, with the name of the show being "coup de soleil", meaning sunburn and the models purposely had some sort of fake sunburn, such as a mark of a t-shirt or watch burn. Uhh HIS MIND!
